Stand With Crypto director says crypto voters could decide the U.S. midterms
Stand With Crypto Executive Director Mason Lynaugh said the November 3 midterm elections could turn on crypto voters, arguing that a shift in congressional control may shape Bitcoin and crypto policy for years. Speaking with Grace Remington and Sean Hagan on a Bitcoin Magazine program, Lynaugh outlined the group’s final election push, which he said includes 3.1 million advocates, chapters in all 50 states, 47 college chapters, and 45 endorsed candidates. He described crypto voters as a low-propensity swing bloc that campaigns spend millions trying to identify, especially in tight races that can be decided by only a few hundred votes. Lynaugh also pointed to votes on the Clarity Act and the GENIUS Act as evidence that crypto policy has bipartisan backing, including support from 100 Democrats on the Clarity Act. He said that, regardless of which party wins, he expects the next Congress to be the most pro-Bitcoin in history. The discussion also covered the group’s voter hub, the rise in A-rated lawmakers from 90 to 338 over three years, organizing against anti-Bitcoin lawmakers, Fair Shake’s $95 million effort, and why AI advocates are seen as allies.
